Remember back in September when Star Wars: The Old Republic developer Broadsword said it would share more about Game Update 7.6 in November? Well a lot of that sharing was indeed done during the latest developer livestream, with a release window of early December, feature previews, and confirmation of a little delay for those who play the MMORPG for story.
The stream opened with some spoiler-filled information about GU 7.6’s Galactic Threads story line, then confirmed that this new series of quests will be arriving later than the rest of the patch. “While the ‘Galactic Threads’ story chapter is well into production, the SWTOR Narrative team does not currently have all the components needed to deliver high-quality story content that adheres to the team’s standards, as well as player expectations for story,” Broadsword writes. “The release date for ‘Galactic Threads’ is currently delayed until this content can be completed. Please note, no other content in Game Update 7.6 is impacted.”
As for that content in GU 7.6, that will obviously include the new lair boss and dynamic events features with some new armor and mount rewards, along with the start of PvP Season 7 and its own new goodies, a host of new visual upgrades, and the return of the Life Day event in mid-December.
The stream also showcased some new cash shop items, provided the first look at a new mount type that will let players ride with certain pets and companions, and alerted players to a release of inactive player character names when the update launches; this will affect players differently based on whether they’re a subscriber or not, so interested fans should read the separate update post for more.
