China’s mobile Blue Protocol ARPG rebrands as Star Resonance with a new test for December

We’re all being reminded that Blue Protocol is technically not dead all over again. Readers will remember that a mobile version of the anime MMO entered closed beta testing in China earlier this year. It would appear that same game, published by Bandai Namco and developed by Tencent-funded developer Shanghai Bokura Network Technology, is pushing ahead with testing for the PC and Android versions of the MMO later this month.

The game, which now sports the name Star Resonance (while still carrying the Blue Protocol Mobile name in its URL), has begun taking names for testing signups in the country between now and December 19th, with notifications being sent to accepted players on December 23rd. An associated FAQ additionally confirms that the test will not be under an NDA and will allow cross-platform play between PC and Android, according to Google Translate.

The game’s official website offers some further information about Star Resonance, including a brief preview of the six new classes for the MMO and a new gameplay trailer; that footage can be seen below, though bear in mind it still looks as if this is only for China.
