Early access could be delayed as well

Throwback-styled MMO Monsters & Memories announced a change to its roadmap this week, moving the start of its closed beta phase from tomorrow until sometime later this year. However, don’t despair: The studio said that this will allow for more work to be done on the beta build, with full passes on classes, fleshed-out tradeskills, and a better handle on game balance.

“There are foundational systems, features, and content that we want to see tested during beta that we believe must be in place,” the devs wrote. “This is in keeping with the ‘proof of concept’/vertical slice approach we announced at the onset. So, our current plan is to enter beta once we’ve got those elements in place.”

Early access was dated for Q1 2026, but the studio said that it will “define the early access launch date based on [its] assessment” of the closed beta test.

Monsters & Memories is running a stress test this weekend on October 4th and 5th, with a 10-day open test kicking off on November 1st.
