Last week saw Destiny 2 begin its first steps toward proliferation of its fireteam finder function with a raid finder stress test. That test has concluded and Bungie is apparently confident enough that it’s ready for the next phase: a beta test on Wednesday, December 6th.

According to the studio, 42% of players who used the raid group finder completed the content they were wanting to clear, with most time spent in the Crota’s End raid. The studio also confirmed that players who used the group finder didn’t really take much longer to clear raids than the usual premade teams did. Assuming all goes well, the fireteam finder proliferation will release sometime in late January according to the shooter’s latest newsletter.

Speaking of that newsletter, it talks about various PvP events that are scheduled to arrive, starting first with confirmation that Crucible’s Control mode will be an optional choice instead of a part of regular rotation. PvP players can also expect the first Iron Banner to arrive on December 5th, which will introduce the Tribute mode where players will have to gather crests and place them into their team’s bank. Future Iron Banners will run on January 2nd and 23rd, while the Crucible Labs test environments will have new features to try on December 26th and January 16th.

This week has also brought the Warlord’s Ruin dungeon online for players to plumb if they own a Lightfall dungeon key, while future PvE event dates have been confirmed: The Dawning holiday event will begin December 12th, and Grandmasters playlist will be available starting on January 19th.
