This week was another info-filled livestream from the developers of Warframe and Soulframe, as Digital Extremes once again provided important dates and details for the two action RPGs to close out the rest of this year and move into the next.
After the team paid homage to the passing of art director Michael “Mynki” James Brennan, the team went in to what’s coming to Warframe, specifically with a look at Warframe 1999, which is now confirmed for this December (instead of the launch window of this winter).
The preview focused on the new Tehcrot enemy group that has created corrupted versions of the members of boy band On-lyne. Players will have to face these five Technocyte Coda bosses, each with unique weapons and attacks, all in an effort to collect tokens that unlock 13 new infested weapons and cosmetics styled around the band. The stream also granted a look at the procedurally generated Höllvania map, some of the new enemies players will face, and word of a new endless capture game mode where players have to hunt down a single target over and over, with each encounter raising its combat abilities and difficulty.
Before the December update lands, players have things to look forward to next month in the form of Xaku Prime’s release on November 13th along with reworks for the Frames Trinity and Nyx; details on Nyx’s updates will be shared in next month’s stream, but Trinity got a deep-dive that pointed out updates like a completely new passive. All of the details for Warframe fans await in the official overview.
As for Soulframe, the devs behind the medieval mythic-styled MMORPG confirmed that it will be moving its pre-alpha Preludes build into open access sometime in 2025. Before then, the current test’s pool will be expanding via four friend codes that existing testers will be able to share. The game’s own official devstream also provided additional details for the game’s next build, including five new weapons, visual updates, skills that are now acquired through weapon usage, crafting features, and a look at abilities earned through pacts.
