Elder Scrolls Online will preview it next update and dungeon DLC this week as part of its new content cadence

Just ahead of the holidays, Elder Scrolls Online’s ZeniMax Online Studios shocked the MMO fanbase by announcing a move to a seasonal model with smaller updatesand no anchoring expansion/chapter – breaking a functioning and consistent content cadence that players have relied on since 2017. That also means there won’t be a big chapter reveal in January of this year – another departure – as the first season won’t be revealed until April.

However, the team is doing a January stream to this week to preview update 45 and the dungeon DLC – actually characterized as the “first dungeon DLC of the year.”

“A new year means new adventures for Tamriel’s heroes, and we’re thrilled to reveal just the first part of 2025’s releases during the Update 45 Preview Livestream. Tune in to Twitch.tv/Bethesda at 2PM EST this coming Thursday, January 9, as ESO Community Team members Jess Folsom and Gina Bruno are joined by Lead Encounter Designer Mike Finnigan and Lead Combat & PvP Designer Brian Wheeler for an early look at both the Update 45 base-game patch and the first dungeon DLC of the year!”

In other Elder Scrolls Online news, the team is running a GeForce LAN promo that nets participants a free Pineblossom Vale Elk mount, though of course you’ll have to access ESO from a GeForce PC or GeForce NOW to snag it.
