The beta for Chrono Odyssey has begun and brought with it… bugs. Now, this would be completely fine if the game in question was Entomologist Combat Odyssey, but in this case those bugs are not enemies you need to fight but problems that aren’t supposed to be there. Still, they’re promising more capacity, so that’s something! Meanwhile, Bitcraft is going into early access… uh… well, first it was the 20th, then it was the 27th, now it’s going to be tomorrow, so hopefully tomorrow but who knows any more?
In other news, the Kickstarter for Lionhearts has kicked off and it is decidedly not pay-to-win. How can we tell? Well, because there’s no accepted definition for the term so it can still assert that confidently whilst selling duchies for $10,000 a pop. Nifty. Also, Dragonwilds believes in magic, because it just patched that in. Now you can wave your hand and go “wooooooo” and it will theoretically do something. Magic!
Do you want more magic? Gosh, you are needy, huh? Well, fortunately for you, we’ve got our full list of games in testing down below our roundup of major beta news this week. If something slipped into a new test phase without us noticing or we just missed something important, let us know down in the comments!

We consider an MMO to be in open testing if it features free, public signups and will server wipe prior to launch. An MMO is marked in closed testing if it’s running a private test phase that cannot freely be accessed by the general public; it’s often under NDA as well. Early access and crowdfunded MMOs whose tests we deem legitimate will be included. So-called “open beta” soft-launch MMOs with cash shops, no sign of launch in the west, or limited interest for our readers will not be listed, nor will games that are NFT/blockchain scams; we also do not list expansions, with occasional exceptions. Finally, we’ll mark games “malingering” if they’ve been in a certain tier of development for a long time with no clear path to launch.

Yes, MMO gamers, you too can perform the unpaid quality-control work otherwise known as game testing! Check out Massively Overpowered’s Betawatch every week for a run-down of MMOs that are still on the road to launch, even if they appear to have set up a permanent residence in a shed called early access.
