Make My MMO: July 4, 2015

Make My MMO

This week in MMO crowdfunding, Pathfinder Online introduced mules. No, not your dual-boxed healer or the crafter avatar that you force your kid to level up when he’s done cutting your grass, but actual mules that carry goods and make sad mule faces.

Pathfinder’s mules are both designed to help traders move large quantities of goods and to attract gankbox bandits looking to spoil said trader’s day, so use them with caution! The rest of this week’s crowdfunding news roundup is just past the break.

Muspel Coffeefall

Coffeefall It was only what, 100k-ish from the Kickstarter? Based on what I can see, he worked on it for somewhere between 18 months and 2 years.
So that money probably would have been spent paying his living expenses while working on the game (essentially, paying his salary since he wouldn’t have been working a “normal” job), and on paying other people to provide various assets (like artists, etc.). I would guess that, at this point, there’s not much money left to keep, if any.

There are certainly examples of people taking the Kickstarter money and running, but based on what I’m reading, I’m not convinced that The Stomping Land is one of them.

The Stomping Land is now officially abandoned? So what happens to the Kickstarter money? So Alex Fundora basically gets to keep the raised funds?
