DC Universe Online makes fifth anniversary plans

Ah, this was handled capably.

Daybreak’s DC Universe Online is about to turn five years old, believe it or not, and the studio is planning a pair of streams (and more than a pair of player gifts) to celebrate the occasion.

“Happy 5th Anniversary, DCUO! January 11, 2011, still seems like just yesterday to a lot of us, but come Monday DCUO will be celebrating the big fifth birthday as a live game. Make sure you log into the game to celebrate (and claim your anniversary gifts!), and make sure you tune into Kinda Funny Games for TWO news-filled livestreams to see what’s planned for DCUO in 2016.”

The more pertinent of the two streams is the one that begins at 4:30 p.m. EST on Monday; it will include a walkthrough of Daybreak’s plans for the game in 2016 as well as a playthrough of selected Episode 21 content.

I played this in the beginning, hearing the same v/o referring to me as “you little punk” got old quickly with me. Seriously, this is DC, commit some resources to this title and make me care about it again..

Honestly, I found the game a bit boring. I returned last months to see what had changed, and it was literally the same as when I left it 2 years ago. Quite a letdown.

I’ve Life time membership to this game and sadly I just don’t play it. I just after a while didn’t like various features of it which is a shame but oh well.

Can we get the damn cross server play already? Daybreak has been handling all of the games poorly. They turned the DLCs into super cash grabs now by piece mealing the content and naming them “episodes” You know lucky me and some of my league mates were to have gotten the DLC before this shenanigan?

More than anything I wish they could upgrade the engine to the newest Unreal Engine
