EVE Online’s January patch brings new SKINs and UI improvements

Electronic warfare is important in EVE Online. It’s not the most important part of any sort of armed conflict – there’s the whole “weapons” thing – but it’s still important. So it’s probably a good thing that the game’s most recent patch moves several important status effects to the game’s EWAR bar, allowing players to more easily track and manage a variety of ongoing electronic warfare effects.

The patch also contains a variety of quality-of-life improvements and the first set of new SKINs for ships. Eight SKINs from the Tronhadar Ink line have been added to the game, allowing players a new option for customizing the look of their ships. It’s not a huge patch, but who doesn’t like the opportunity to get a sleek new look while also making electronic warfare that much more straightforward?

Boardwalker who the heck is belittling the game? O.o

I’m merely expressing my dismay toward addition (skins) that I deem close to useless in this game. Blob or no blob.

Wilhelm Arcturus I quite liked the skins too, I still think they are pointless int his game.

The EVE dev’s work hard and we’re only a few weeks into 2016 and the new patch is out. Take note, Blizz.

Kaloth VoiceReason Kaloth I am still holding out hope for station walking and I really liked it when it first appeared (how ever limiting it is at present). Shame that so many people hated the idea that it has been shelved.
A little part of me is hoping that in a dark broom cupboard of CCP, they are secretly working on it and it will be released suddenly, much to my delight.

Landari_Omega Gibs To be fair, “shoot all the bombs” is also a valid tactic. Most ships in a blob like that can be removed with a couple well-timed bombs.
If it’s in low or high-sec, just move on. It’s not going to be a real fight anyway.

VoiceReason I was excited about walking in stations.
Apparently I was the only person in the whole damn game that was.

Gibs Ah yes, escalating blob fights. Blob fights are the absolute worst gameplay EVE has to offer if you ask me. While the number of capital ships the server can handle on grid is staggering, this kind of warfare is pretty shallow and really kills the hype for most veterans. Its boring, slow, and virtually no tactics come into play except bring in more guys.

With the new Citadel updates this kind of warfare won’t be absolutely necessary anymore, which is good.
