The Humble Bundle for the holidays is full of MMO goodness, including Guild Wars 2, Neverwinter, and Blade & Soul

So here’s how the latest Humble Bundle is working. Drop $35 on the bundle and all of your money goes to charity, and you get to take part in the rolling advent calendar of bundle stuff. Which is important to us here because that rolling advent calendar includes a whole lot of MMO stuff already. Guild Wars 2, Neverwinter, Star Trek Online, Blade & Soul, and Guardians of Ember already have shown up to the party, and there are still several more days yet to be revealed.

That’s not to discount the non-MMOs in the pack so far, but we know what we’re about. So if you’re looking for a way to get a whole lot of games and bonus items besides in one place, you can do worse than dropping $35 on the bundle. Heck, get two and give one to someone else who likes a pile of games. Then you’re actually giving gifts as well as buying them for yourself.

No mention of the Yogscast who put this charity event together and live stream every day of December to raise money for great organizations that help people around the world?

“Drop $35 on the bundle and all of your money goes to charity”

Oh good heavens no. Please don’t confuse people into thinking Humble Bundle is a full charity when it isn’t. Or are you also confused Eliot?

“Most people stick with the default split – 65 percent to developers, 20 percent to charity and 15 percent to Humble – but otherwise, there is a slight bias toward giving to charity, Graham notes. Developers have grossed more than $100 million through Humble Bundle since May 2010.”

If you want 100% of proceeds to go to a charity guess what the best way to donate to a charity is? Donating directly to a charity. Humble Bumble is a money making operation for games outside of their most profitable times disguised as a charity operation. It is not. It is a sales tool.

There is a reason Humble Bundle was recently purchased – because it isn’t a charity. Far from it.

normally it doesn’t but the jingle jam is a special case where everything goes to charity.

When I looked I wasn’t sure if this actually included Guardians of Ember or it was just the DLC costume . If you look there is also a Vermintide DLC costume on offer as well .

Does not appear to include Guardians of Ember same with vermintide. I’m trying to figure out if vermintide 2 includes the full release or just the beta but from what i can gleam on the humble forums it does not include full game.

I’m good, I’ll settle for wrecking my body at an underpaid job taking care of patients while waiting for my over due raise that should have been released side by side with the RNs.

That’s charitable enough for me since part of my work I’m kind of already doing for free.

An oddly personal rant.
