Frontier Developments is continuing beta testing of Elite Dangerous’s upcoming Beyond – Chapter Four update, which is now entering week three, and the beta servers have been patched with a new update that adds two new ships, a few new scenarios, and a metric ton of bug fixes and general improvements. With the new update, testers can now jump into the cockpits of two new vessels, the Krait Phantom and the Mamba.
The Krait Phantom is a capable, jack-of-all trades kind of ship with “a spacious cargo hold and a relatively generous quantity of hardpoints” and “enough firepower to hold its own against larger targets, and enough straight-line speed to outpace smaller targets.” The Mamba, meanwhile, is “based on an unreleased racing prototype,” so it’s all about speed, while its one huge and two large hardpoints allow it to pack some significant firepower, making it perfect for hit-and-run attacks.
The update also adds three new scenarios and fixes a remarkably expansive list of bugs, the full details of which you can find in the patch notes on the game’s official forum.
