The next World of Warcraft patch is in the middle of testing, which has already resulted in some negative player feedback on certain systems. But the latest source of negative feedback? Eyes. Specifically, glowing eyes on player races, which no longer glow nearly as intensely as they did before with the most recent server build. Your Death Knights, Blood Elves, and Night Elves now have notably darker eyes than before, which is supposedly part of the process of including more customization options with the game’s next expansion; we can only assume it will tie into an option to control the glow intensity or something similar.
Of course, the latest build also includes actual content you can try out, if you really want to. We suppose it’s important that, say, players have new weapon options that have been added to drop tables, or that the system for cleansing corrupted items to remove the bonus and the negative affix is in place (and it turns out it’s incredibly cheap to do). But why fixate on that when you could weep softly at the character selection screen while singing “In Your Eyes”? There is significantly less light now, although heat levels remain consistent.
Blizzard has published a post announcing that there will be changes to eyes from Death Knights and Elves in Visions of N'zoth.
