Leaks pinpoint The Division’s next DLC as Warlords of New York, launching in March

It should go without saying that if you don’t want real spoilers, you probably should just close this tab or move on to the next article. But if you do, dig right on in.

The Division 2’s first “year 2” DLC is apparently called Warlords of New York. API scrubbers and eagle-eyed watchers of some of Ubisoft’s global YouTube channels have mined up a bit of info about it, including the fact that it’s being called an expansion and it’ll have a new open world map in New York, level cap bump to 40, a “revamped” progression system, new tactical goodies, and an “extended endgame” in addition to the new story. The Ultimate Edition will apparently include the base game, level 30 booster so people can skip the early game and get right to the expansion, unlocks for all endgame specs, exclusive missions, and some exclusive cosmetics. As for the plot?

“New York is under threat. Aaron Keener, a former Division Agent turned rogue, has taken control of Lower Manhattan, backed by four devoted and highly skilled lieutenants. Trained by The Division but disavowing its ideals, they are now the highest authority in town and the most formidable force the Agents have ever faced.”

It appears to be launching March 3rd. Division players will want to catch the whole stream today at 2 p.m. EST, leaks or not.

I did enjoy this game and played 243 hrs.

But Ubisoft’s support is extremely terrible as they still have not fixed the missing Charles Douglas for me. Not keen on buying anything from Ubisoft unless it is on sale.

Well its no secret an overwhelming vocal majority of players appeared to prefer Manhattan to the white noise weedy junk yard of Washington and its white noise locations. But given how Ubisoft declared the game a financial failure last year i have to wonder if this isn’t going to be a straight assett flip of the sort we havent seen in years in another change in direction to try and find something that sticks with a brand they clearly dont know what to do with outside of R6 Siege.

Bullet sponges of New York. Can’t wait!

Oddly things aren’t all that bullet spongy when you play solo, they only get super spongy when it scales them for group content. In that respect I feel your pain as that issue puts my friends off playing this grouped even on the occasion we want too, it scales badly.

The focus on a story based expansion rather than a “mode” is definitely a tentative step in the right direction finally.

So they’ve understood that abandoning post-apocalyptic winter New York in favor of sunny generic junkyard – it was a mistake. How about making enemies less cartoonish (running in gas masks in summer?) and characters – less ugly?

Second iteration of the game felt like it’s a title for undemanding mid-school students – like a Batman movie – instead of anything remotely serious, like Tom Clancy’s franchise should be.

Sooo correct me if i’m wrong, but i thought the main difference between Division 1 and 2 was the location itself, since the gameplay looked identical to me in gameplay videos. And now the game is going back to its original location?

It is cheap to re-use assets.

The game is anywhere from $3-5 right now across all platforms. That’s kind of like free if you haven’t tried it yet.

I believe the discount is only for consoles at this point.

$4 CDN on Uplay right now, so that’s probably $3 USD. Plus you can get 20% off that if you exchange 100 Uplay coins for a coupon code. Not sure why one would waste them on a game already so cheap, but you can do it.

Yep, you’re right. Uplay has it for $4 CAD.
