One of the most vital parts of playing any MMORPG is getting your look exactly right, but we can all pretty much agree that the choices on offer in World of Warcraft are pretty lackluster. That looks to be changing a fair bit with the release of Shadowlands, as Wowhead has offered a number of customization previews for several of the game’s base races.
While the images are coming from the Shadowlands alpha and are subject to change or even become more varied, what’s previewed thus far is likely interesting to players eager to spice up their look. There’s some Wildhammer-style tattoos for Dwarves, new eyes, skin tone, and hair options for the Blood Elves, and some new skin and hair choices for the Dranei among other previews.
Wowhead also has a liveblog of an interview with lead narrative designer Steve Danuser, which (as one would expect) focuses primarily on the lore leading in to Shadowlands, including confirmation that the lore team has been fully consulted and is 100% on board with the upcoming customization options. If anyone’s curious about what might be on the way with the new expansion from a story perspective, it’s worth a look.
