Players of the alpha version of Star Citizen can now go from Wrecks to Riches, or at least they can do so provided they have the right kind of ship, as the alpha 3.22 update of the same name is now live for players to check out.
Headlining this new build is the improved version of ship salvage, which has now expanded beyond mere hull scraping to also include creating and snorting up clouds of dead spaceship dust. Another major feature is the addition of 15 more derelict settlements, which can either be completely abandoned, serve as commerce hubs, or house hostile enemies.
Another main headline is the addition of three more vehicles to the game in the form of the alien fighter the San’tok.yai, the high-speed Origin X1 hoverbike, and an exploration variant of the Drake Cutter known as the Rambler. These three vehicles were the centerpiece of this week’s Inside Star Citizen video, which offered a closer look at each new vehicle in turn.
In addition to these updates, alpha 3.22 adds more hairstyles, engages a reworked Jumptown event, adds more character cargo storage, and introduces more maps and match types to the Arena Commander FPS module. More information awaits within the patch notes and plenty of sizzle awaits in the videos below the break.
