Dungeons and Dragons Online begins testing its new Dragon Lord Fighter archetype

It was just last Friday that Dungeons and Dragons Online’s producer confirmed that the MMO was getting at least two new class archetypes in 2024 — and now we’re already seeing one pop up on the test server.

Update 66 is undergoing trials on the Lamannia shard, and among its offerings is the Dragon Lord Fighter archetype. So what is this specialization? “Based on the Dragon Lord prestige class from 3.5E’s Dragon Magic book, the Dragon Lord is a Fighter archetype that models their tactics after the ferocity of dragons to demoralize and subdue their enemies. They excel in crowd control, defense, and Draconic power.”

That’s not all for Update 66 either. The patch includes a destiny balance refresh, upgrades to the tooltips, and an “experimental” new combat feature in the form of AoE ranged attacks. SSG also provided an early look at one of Update 67’s new dungeons called Fred’s First Date.
