While Destiny 2 fans patiently (or impatiently) await the arrival of The Final Shape expansion in June and the Into the Light update in April, there will also be something coming to the looter shooter on March 5th: balance adjustments. Cue your own personal dramatic music.
The updates planned are quite voluminous and touch on multiple aspects of the game’s PvP and PvE, though a lot of the focus appears to be on the former. Some of these targeted PvP updates include nerfs to Threaded Specter and Threadlings, updates to bows to make them easier to counter, and a nerf to sniper rile aim assist, among many others.
On top of these specific changes, the devs also focus on the Crucible specifically, with March 5th bringing increased player health in the mode, reduced grenade and super cooldowns in the Crucible, the addition of a special ammo bar that grants special ammo when it fills by earning points, and adjustments for ability, primary weapon, and special weapon damage.
There are some PvE-focused changes coming as well, like several updates for Solar’s Consecration and Gunpowder Gamble, adjustments to certain types of rockeet launchers and grenade launchers, bug fixes for the Restoration and Radiant keyword buffs, and tweaks to the Ember of Empyrean and Ember of Mercy fragments. All in all, things get pretty long and very granular, so fans may want to dig in for all of the specifics.
