Over the past year or so we’ve been keeping eyes on Quest Master’s Realm, an indie “realtime action-based MMORPG […] aboard the shell of a giant turtle” that has some sky-high ambitions and has been moving through testing phases. The game’s next major phase is soon to happen, as developer Blue Lightning Software has announced a Steam early access launch date of Friday, March 29th.

Players of Quest Master’s Realm will be able to take on PvE and PvP activities, with swappable skill sets that define abilities and equipment. The MMO otherwise offers familiar trappings like fighting, crafting and gathering, and “deep” questing elements, and the developer has even provided a roadmap of planned updates.

The announcement came bundled with gameplay footage from a YouTuber by the name of Roflrawr that grants a look at some PvE gameplay that’s “quite close to the current release build” according to the game’s Reddit account. The announcement otherwise calls the MMO a “labor of love” with its costs primarily covering server fees. As for the cost, it will be “at a discount, something like $7.49 during the first week of release.” Early access is planned to run between three to six months.
