The Daily Grind: Are you looking for drama in your MMOs?

The other day in Lord of the Rings Online chat, the topic of guild drama came up and took one hell of a twist. You know how people always says they want a guild with no drama, to the point that guilds will advertise themselves as drama-free? Well, the joke this time was… what if you are looking for drama?

I certainly have known MMO gamers who did just that, whether they admitted it or not. Drama followed them around no matter where they went. Some folks seek out explosive situations, arguments, fights, leadership squabbles, and general chat trolling. If they aren’t breaking up a marriage or ousting a raid member, they just aren’t happy. And why shouldn’t they have a guild where they can be so entertained, right?

Are you looking for drama in your MMOs in 2024? Did you enjoy games more when drama was more common – when it was more a feature than a bug?
