The Daily Grind: Is there a popular MMORPG you’ve still never played?

Grats, I guess.

I’ve been playing MMORPGs so long that it’s a rare title that I’ve never tried at all. There are tons of MMOs I’ve at least given the ol’ college try before I bounced off of them, like Black Desert and New World. And I can certainly understand why a lot of folks never played Ultima Online or Asheron’s Call, especially folks newer to our genre. Very old titles and very small titles, that just makes sense to me. I never played Final Fantasy XI back in the day, for example.

But every once in a while, someone who’s been around in MMOs decades admits he’s never played something ubiquitous like World of Warcraft and I’m startled. How does that happen? How did you manage to make it through the late aughts without your friends dragging you in there?

Is there a popular MMORPG you’ve still never played? And why not?

Every morning, the Massively Overpowered writers team up with mascot Mo to ask MMORPG players pointed questions about the massively multiplayer online roleplaying genre. Grab a mug of your preferred beverage and take a stab at answering the question posed in today’s Daily Grind!
