Black Desert simplifies gathering and fishing on PC, brings a plant centaur boss fight to mobile

If you’re all about those life skills in Black Desert on PC, or if you’ve never thought to try them out, then you’re likely going to be interested this week’s patch, which has made some major adjustments to the game’s gathering and fishing activities in an effort to make life skills more approachable to everyone.

First off, players will no longer need to equip a tool in order to do any gathering and fishing, meaning they can get into all of the resource harvesting they want to immediately. In addition, life skill levels will be shared across a family of characters, and any gathering tools that players do own can be put into a special tools UI so they can be accessed by all characters within a family. Seasonal characters will also be able to equip gear with life skill mastery thanks to this update.

On top of these gathering-centric changes, this week’s PC patch has launched some new events, revamped the cross-class Black Spirit’s Absorption skill, refined the assignment of guild members’ access to actions, and improved the buff benefits for node war participation, among several other things.

This week has also brought something new to Black Desert Mobile in the form of a new plant centaur boss by the name of Ronin. This new co-op rush fight features multiple phases that are explained in the patch notes and offers up some unique rewards including a powerful belt. There’s also some new events in the mobile MMO, like a daily Hammer of Fortune event that grants goodies to players, a new task list to clear for even more hammer attempts, and a boss wave survival event.
