There were no shortage of shooter titles showcased during this year’s Summer Game Fest presentation, but there was one that we have been paying attention to for a while now: Nexon’s looter shooter The First Descendant, which has been moving through various test phases on the way to its free-to-play launch this summer. Now thanks to Geoff Keighley’s Big Sweaty Trailerfest, fans have a release date confirmed by way of a new cinematic video.
First Descendant will officially make it to launch across PC via Steam, PlayStation 4 & 5, and Xbox One and Series X|S on Tuesday, July 2, 2024. The date was heralded with a splashy video that’s light on gameplay but full of sci-fantasy superpowered badassery and gunplay, as well as quick peeks at new bosses and characters, all of which was built within Unreal Engine 5 according to Nexon.
More information about launch details and related events are promised soon, but until then here’s that trailer to tide you over. Just don’t take a shot whenever you see a lady combatant in high heels; you risk alcohol poisoning that way.
