Pantheon: Rise of the Fallen isn’t the only MMO that surprised us this week with an early access release announcement. After years of troubled production and delays, Corepunk should come out by the end of the year.
Artificial Core announced that it will be releasing Corepunk into early access on November 26th, with pre-orders opening up today (the basic edition of the game will run you $36). Between now and early access will be yet another alpha test, this one running an entire month from August 6th through September 6th, as the studio said that Corepunk still requires “significant polishing in all directions.”
When it comes out, there will be servers in EU, NA, SA, Asia, and Oceania. The initial release will only be in English and shouldn’t involve a wipe between early access and launch unless there is a “critical bug or exploit.”
The studio also provided a wrap-up report of its recent 50K alpha test, saying that it went much better this time around.
“Everything went better than well for us,” the developers said. “Your creative approaches to exploring and mastering the content are impressive. We’ve never seen such a variety of play styles before; it’s a great experience for us. Every aspect of the game — gathering, crafting, PvE, PvP, questing, and world exploration — has found its players. This is precisely how Corepunk was envisioned; game systems should allow you to dabble in everything or dive deeply into one direction.”
