WASSHOI! WASSHOI!

Yo dawg, we heard you like summer celebrations, so we put a summer celebration in your summer vacation in Final Fantasy XIV so you can go through traditional Japanese summer celebrations while also eating tacos afterwards. Well… traditional to an extent, as very few Japanese celebrations involve talking catfish wearing bells or cat-people. The giant fans you swing while yelling “Wasshoi!” are a bit more plausible, though. It’s the Moonfire Faire all over again, and it starts on August 8th.

This year’s rewards are a set of bomb balloons to place on a tabletop as well as the “Uchiwasshoi” emote, involving the aforementioned giant fan complete with a Namazu decoration. We have no idea at the moment what the story will actually involve, but you’ll be able to find out in a week; just be sure to get in all of the summer festival celebration you want early, since the festivities end promptly on August 26th.
