It’s time to celebrate summer in Destiny 2 via the time-honored tradition of slaughtering enemies and grinding currency to make special armor extra shiny. That’s right, the Solstice event is back, running between now and August 27th, with another round of bonfire burning good times for rewards.

Regular players will find familiarity with this year’s Solstice, with an event-specific solstice forge item and event card to collect, bonfire bash instances to clear, and event armor, previous event weapons, and a new bow weapon to acquire. This year’s event will also introduce silver leaves currency that can be earned from a wide assortment of activities and spent on re-rolling bounties, while alloys gained from completed bounties get players to event armor and event armor glows.

A patch that went live to the shooter earlier this week also brought some equipment tuning. Highlights for weapons include more PvE damage for aggressive scout rifles, lowered flinch from PvE damage for sniper rifles, and updates to a few exotics. As for armor, the patch made nerfs to certain Hunter and Warlock exotics as well as a change to reserve armor mods that halted swapping armor mods to get more ammo while also increasing reserve ammo by 15 percent and decreasing the mod’s energy cost.

The weekly newsletter further promises additional changes to D2’s pathfinder progression system, heralds over $2M raised for charity during its Bungie Day drive, and shares the usual list of known issues and fan creations.
