If you’ve managed to dodge all of the pre-order access spoilers both unofficial and official, congratulations: Your reward is the ability to play World of Warcraft’s latest expansion The War Within when it officially releases today starting at 6:00 p.m. EDT according to a big countdown timer.
This expansion begins WoW’s three expansion-long Worldsoul Saga, tasking players with delving underground realms in a fight against the Nerubian Empire while adding features like new hero talents, skyriding, the Earthen Dwarf playable race, and new delves, raids, and dungeons as part of a wider effort to bring an “endgame for everyone.”
Of course, it hasn’t been completely smooth sailing in the run-up to this point: Besides the aforementioned spoilers flying around everywhere, there were long-standing problems with the expansion’s pre-patch that brought wanted features later than advertised. Still, that’s all behind everyone, as players are now headed below ground.
