Ever dream of owning your own camping van and striking out on wilderness adventures — but then balk at the sticker price of such fancies? You may soon have a much more affordable option with Outbound, a cozy co-op camping game that’s heading to testing next year and a hopeful launch in 2026.
Studio Square Glade’s pitch for Outbound is as succinct as it is tantalizing to certain personalities: “Build your own home on wheels and live sustainably off-grid. Craft workstations and power supplies, source energy from the sun, wind, or water, upgrade and customize your vehicle, grow crops, and explore a colorful world with up to four players.”
To help fund the game, Outbound launched a Kickstarter campaign earlier this month with a modest goal of $33,500. It crossed that in two hours and stands at over $183,000 at the time of this post. Backers for this PC, Switch, Xbox, and Playstation title will get alpha access in 2025 and exclusive Kickstarter decorations for their mobile home.
The campaign has already added several stretch goals including exterior camping, fishing, beekeeping, and (of course) “cozy kites.”
