Duckside is a new PvPvE survival shooter and not something I just made up I swear

Don’t look at me like that. Duckside is a real game, not an MJ-inspired fever dream, and it’s from tinyBuild, which is a real games studio you have heard of. Don’t believe me? Fine, go look it up: It hit Steam early access today with a $14.99 pricetag (under $10 on sale at the moment). And yes, the key thing here is that you play as a duck.

“In DUCKSIDE, you’ll fight against feathered and featherless foes while gathering loot and materials to create a base and complete missions across a giant archipelago, solo or with a flock. Other ducks may be looking to steal your items from under your beak, so protect your territory! Build and fortify a giant base, team up with friends to hunt, or simply steal from other ducks. Arm (wing?) up and head into battle against the humans to complete missions and secure rare and valuable loot. The possibilities are endless in this persistent-world survival shooter filled with ducks, guns, emergent gameplay and never-ending quacking.”

TinyBuild says the early access launch comes with new biomes for the ducks, new animations, new weapons (chainsaws and jackhammers and molotovs and bazookas for ducks), water supply platforms, server renting, and dynamic NPC behavior. That’s “non-plumed characters.” I didn’t make that up either. The team means to build on its three (!) betas and run early access for about a year.
