As promised, Throne and Liberty is patching up morning with the Call of the Spear update. If you’ve been following New World or Lost Ark for a while, you know how their updates run like clockwork, and that appears to be how Amazon is going to run T&L too. The big content drop in this update is, of course, the new weapon for players: the spear.
“The Spear specializes in exploiting enemy weaknesses for faster eliminations,” Amazon says. “Quickly crowd control and render those who stand in your way defenseless with the Spear’s unique abilities. Gale Rush will close the gap on any battlefield, while a well-timed Javelin will finish off any foe. The Spear is a powerful weapon that excels in almost every playstyle.”
But even if you’re not into spears, the patch has more: Amazon has added what the teams are calling dimensional trials, which is basically a difficulty system for its dungeons; fresh dungeon content; customized competitive matches for PvP (with a spectator mode); the rune system, which allows players to enhance their gear; the new fortitude stat; transmutation of mats; the fishing codex; a combat balance pass; and a whole bunch of tweaks for the UI and several classes (we spy buffs for staff, longbow, greatsword, and wand in particular).
We’re also expecting full details on the battle pass at some point today too. The servers went offline at 1:30 a.m. EST this morning and were expected back by 9:30 a.m. EST, but they were actually up earlier for most servers – just delayed on PlayStation now.
