For the past several weeks, Overwatch 2 has been highlighting the variety of features that are en route with its April 16th Season 10 release, which has now culminated in the expected summary trailer to bring it all together in one sizzle reel.

The new season, subtitled Venture Forth, stars the new nonbinary damage hero Venture that gives the update its name. This new character will be fully unlocked and available right from the start along with all of the shooter’s other heroes.

The trailer also grants a look at the mirror universe-themed battle pass rewards, the Clash mode trial that runs April 16th through the 29th along with its bespoke map, and the upcoming opportunity to get previously released mythic skins. Season 10 is also bringing hero adjustments and updates to friend matchmaking and leaver penalties as well, but those features don’t quite translate into alluring video footage.

Activision-Blizzard is considered a controversial gaming company owing to a long string of scandals going back to 2019, including the Blitzchung boycott, mass layoffs, labor disputes, pay disparities, sexual harassment and discrimination lawsuits, federal settlements, executive misconduct, botched Chinese partnership, unionbusting, disastrous management, brain drain, and bungled games. As of 2023, the company was finally acquired by Microsoft; just this year, it’s laid off 800 workers and misled gamers about WoW subs.
