E3 2015: Here’s the Final Fantasy XIV: Heavensward launch trailer

Ravana-egi everything, I say.
The entire Square-Enix presentation at E3 didn’t cover Final Fantasy XIV‘s upcoming expansion, but that’s all right. Why? Well, for one thing, early access starts up in less than three days. For another, the launch trailer for Heavensward is now available, and it’s everything that fans could hope for and more.

Want some hints of story? It’s in there, right down to an ominous phrase at the end that will be familiar to series fans. A preview of class abilities and new third-level limit breaks? Yes indeed. Gorgeous visuals? Uh-huh. So jump on down below and check it out.

You know I roll my 2nd and 3rd jobs when my toon gets her airline permission. To which I bring both up to 15 also. But I suspect this is one of the reason I take so long in levelling to 25. I digress though…
…thanks for explaining this! <3

It’s a 50% XP boost that you get based on the highest level character you have. For example, if you have a level 50 job and a level 3 class, the level 3 gets the Bonus until it reaches level 50, but if you have a 30 job and a 3 class, you only get the boost until 30.
With Heavensward, 1-50 gets 100% boost, while 50-60 will see the 50% boost.

Silly noob question though: “The Armory bonus”…what does that mean?

Also, just in with the preliminary patch notes, the Armory bonus from 1 to 50 is being increased.
By 100% :D

The song that starts around the two-minute mark gives me a strong Suikoden 2 vibe.
But more on topic, I’m super duper excited for Heavensward! And the preliminary patch notes have only fueled my hype.

Yeah the issue is that lot of typical Final Fantasy fans dislike the (admittedly pretentious sounding) pseudo olde English vocal affectations, whereas in the Japanese version it’s very generic and straightforward in terms of tone. The English version takes itself more seriously and has more thought put into it overall.

Blizzard has lost their way where WoW is concerned.  FFXIV, GW2, Star Wars, Runescape and several other leading MMOs now regularly shame Blizzard when it comes to expansion and patch content releases.
WoD is an embarrassment, plain and simple.  Blizzard is about to release their first and possibly only major content patch for this expansion, after seven months of nothing.  This for an expansion which offered about a month of non-raid, playable content to begin with.
I love the classic WoW trilogy and I would be right on board if they could engineer a return to those glory days.  This does not seem to be in the cards for this game, however.  WoW is a once-big dog that has long ago had its day.

As a player who wishes to stay I have a thing against rolling one character for every class. That’s way too Mary Sue to begin with. While I appreciate others have no issues with this, I do. I am an altoholic by nature…and will always be. So that’s not a real viable option for me. :(

n3rdbomb3r Mankeybone It’s kinda musing when you see Americans say they prefer the Japanese voiceovers and in Japan they prefer the non Japanese voiceovers since they think they sound too animeish.
