The other day I was running through The Secret World’s Last Train to Cairo mission for the fourth or fifth time. Even after so many plays, I was still astounded by how interesting and exciting the mission was. Perhaps it was the sense of constant movement, or maybe it was how the mission kept providing new challenges in what should’ve been a very humdrum event.
Another set piece that impressed me was the Leviathan trial fight in Final Fantasy XIV. Fighting a boss on a platform that shifted with the waves made it feel vibrant and exciting, shaking me out of my gaming stupor.
