Make My MMO: Camelot Unchained’s beta delay (April 23, 2016)

This week in MMO crowdfunding news, Camelot Unchained’s devs revealed that they will not make their planned target for beta. The beta phase has been postponed while the game’s ability code is refactored to properly handle what the design team is throwing at it.

Meanwhile, Fragmented dropped its NDA and prepped for its early access launch next week, Star Citizen invoked “minimal viable product” verbiage, and Origins of Malu put its development on hold indefinitely while it attempts to secure other funding.

Read on for more on what’s up with MMO crowdfunding this week and the roundup of all the crowdfunded MMOs we’ve got our eye on!

New SoTA wearable items? Oh you mean cash shop items…. !!!

(Note: this may not be true I haven’t checked)

Oh, the Fragmented NDA is up? Well then.
The game has a more interesting setting than most DayZ-likes, but treat it as you treat all Early Access games however that may be. If you didn’t get a free code for having bought The Repopulation, you are paying to test Fragmented. There are still tons of tiny bugs in most of what you try to do from moment to moment. I am not accusing it of being any worse than even some better EA releases.
Its a beta beta beta. The community is nice right now though :P

The Fragmented trailer actually looked quite promising. While I’m not much into survival games, it really shows that getting rid of the Hero Engine can be a huge step ahead for The Repopulation. My best wishes to Above & Beyond :-)

They can take as much time as they want. Don’t do what was done with Warhammer: Age of Reckoning along with countless other MMOs, and intentionally hobble yourself from the start. The development team’s efforts will be compared to every other MMO that came before theirs and all that baggage will be dropped on top of them if they repeat history instead of learning from it.

The amount of shenanigans,  failures and mediocre titles has built up a good amount of animosity for the MMO genre, It’s wise not to pretend that you can release with anything but your best effort.

TimothyTierless  These delays are a SLAP IN THE FACE!

jk ofc

What, going into backing the old school niche marketed CU (and being an old school veteran of the industry) I NEVER imagined a MMORPG might have delays! This is rediculous! I demand to know more Dragon lore to make up for this! And…and a second horned race that tattoo their faces and bodies…and…and the smuggler profession! I’ll await an official response.

The Caribbean Conquest Kickstarter is actually cancelled:
