What is even happening now
The next major patch for Final Fantasy XIV is arriving on June 7th, and just like other patches, it’s bringing quite a lot of stuff along with it. That pile of new stuff was detailed in the most recent live letter from producer/director Naoki Yoshida, with a quick translation available now for fans who just can’t wait for more information.

Players can look forward to a new trial against Nidhogg on the Steps of Faith, along with a separate Extreme version for those who want to challenge the great wyrm for weaponry. The Moogle beast tribe quests were also revealed to be focused on crafting and gathering, much like the Ixali quests in the 2.x series. There are also new flower pots coming for housing, a new map for Frontlines play, and a system for saving your HUD layout. There are only a couple of weeks left now before the patch lands, but it looks like there’s going to be plenty to be happy about when it does.

Flimflamberge Dope_Danny Great, the goblin stuff cant end soon enough for me and the void ark was far more interesting, especially after doing things like the Scholar 50-60 story.

I’m still hoping we get a 3rd part of void arc but im expecting the head of alexander is the final big story encounter to wrap up heavenswards story, which is a shame because its been the weakest story in a final fantasy for me in years.

-other than 13 of course, but still.

It’s called Final Steps of Faith because it takes place on a ruined Steps, but is a standard 8 man trial against Nidhogg.

Ohh recommended equipment button. I only just got back in FFXIV and only just got to Heavensward. I’ve been stocking gear for all the jobs since I started  but it’s so overwhelming trying to put gear together… I really hope this “equipment recommendation” button pulls from retainers… but it probably won’t… but it’ll still help me a lot. Took me half an hour last night gathering what my new Astrologist could wear digging through everything.

The crafting Moogle quests sound like the kind of thing I need to really get in to crafting, because I am pretty broke and need to follow through on crafting stuff.

I’m all for the crafting beast tribe quests! The Ixhali were a great way to level my crafting classes up from 1 to 50, so I am excited for this…! Even if I have to craft for a bunch of evil, lazy little moogles…
And Nidhog on Steps of Faith? Maybe it’ll be a reverse of the initial trial, and Nidhog has to suffer through trying to get people to do mechanics and not wasting dragonkiller shots when we aren’t even in range…! Or, we just talk things out like Gentlemen do over a cup of tea and Ishgardian muffins.

The most exciting thing for me is the Omni-crafter gear, and that’s saying a lot, because the rest of the stuff is really neat, too. But my endgame is crafting and making some serious gil, so the GILPOCALYPSE is nigh!
