Betawatch: Revelation Online stays unrevealed a little longer (October 28, 2016)

Unrevealed.

Oh Revelation Online, won’t you stay just a little bit longer? Wait, no, you can’t stay; you haven’t even arrived yet. Your closed beta was delayed until November 3rd, after all. Of course, you also gave everyone eagerly awaiting that closed beta compensation in the form of nine days of premium game time for founder’s pack owners, so that’s pretty great. And you showed off some more dungeons for beta, so that’s cool.

Fortunately, that’s the only delay-tacular news this week. Heck, most of the beta news is downright positive!

  • Did you buy into the early access tier for Hero’s Song on its second crowdfunding campaign? Good news, then, as alpha access starts on Monday, with early access planned for sometime in early November.
  • Tuebor is making plans to move out of early access and into launch, thus satisfying the hordes of people who eagerly await being able to play a game named by Latin verb conjugation. Or just those interested in the “MMO-light” game for actual mechanical reasons.
  • When will ladies be available to play in Gloria Victis? Soon. The game did just overhaul its animations, so perhaps that’s a teaser of sorts.
  • Mu Legend has entered its global closed beta, allowing everyone eager for new hack-and-slash action who’s in the beta to take part. If you’re more about smash-and-crush action, there’s probably something in there for you, too. The point is that things are dealt with violently.
  • Villagers & Heroes is out of beta on Android devices. You can just, like, download and play it right now. Please do, in fact, Bree would like the company. (She’s a fan, you see.)
  • Do you want Tree of Savior to be playable on your mobile device? Because that’s a thing that’s happening. It looks like it’s going to be much the same as the PC version, only… well, mobile. So you can bring it everywhere.

Yeah, yeah, there’s a list of games in testing down below. We all knew that was coming. Of course, there’s always the vague possibility that something in there slipped its way into launch before we noticed, so if you see something, let us know. We really appreciate it.

As always, we consider an MMO to be in open testing if it features free, public signups and will server wipe prior to launch. An MMO is marked in closed testing if it’s running a private test phase that cannot freely be accessed by the general public; it’s usually under NDA as well. Early access and crowdfunded MMOs whose tests we deem legitimate will be included. So-called “open beta” soft-launch MMOs with cash shops, no sign of launch in the west, or limited interest for our readers will not be listed; we also do not list expansions, with occasional exceptions.
