World of Warcraft’s second Antorus wing opens for the raid finder as allied races are datamined

Folks.

So, what sort of World of Warcraft information do you find most interesting? Because there are two different flavors available. If you’re the sort who enjoys taking on raids as they come out but also prefers doing so with the raid finder, you’ll be happy to know that the second wing of Antorus is now available for players to explore on the raid finder. Needless to say, it will involve a fair amount of demon killing, because that’s where the story has gone. You’ll have to wait a little longer for the final two wings.

If you’re more curious about the future, though, Wowhead has been mining out data about the first four Allied Races as new 7.3.5 PTR builds go live. The latest build added clearer requirements to unlock each of the four races, specifically completing the zone-wide achievement associated with each race (Highmountain for Highmountain Tauren, Suramar for the Nightfallen, and the Argus story campaign for both Lightforged Draenei and Void Elves) while reaching Exalted with an appropriate faction (the Alliance races above require Army of the Light and Argussian Reach at Exalted, respectively). It’s already known that you will need to own Battle for Azeroth, but it’s looking like a great deal of groundwork can be done beforehand, especially as the tracking for these achievements is account-wide.

More rep grinds……yay..*sobs*

A level 110..well 105 is my highest so far so have some work for the achievements needed for the new allied races yet…ugh
It can wait atm it isn’t my priority, but then I have been out of the game for the last decade lol.
Been too busy grinding dungeons and raids for mounts and transmogs lately as once scaling comes in soloers like me won’t be able to get any of it unless we group which im kind of salty about.

I know I’m in the minority, but as a semi-on-again-off-again player throughout Legion, these ‘grinds’ feel pretty easy to me.

Yeah, I’m not sad about them. Seems a reasonable balance between “We aren’t just giving them away” and “You have to give up your life for the 4-6, depending on the RNG gods to get this.”

as someone who played the hell out iof legion, i cant imagine doing a world quest ever again. I’m so burned out on them that I never bothered doing the ones on argus and dont plan to start now just for a couple of races for the faction I dont even play at the moment.

Antorus isn’t a world quest but a legit Raid.

The Antorus raids are not a cake walk. Went through the second wing today and our group wiped four times on the second boss.

From MMO Champs…it sorta looks like this:

Highmountain Tauren
•Achievement: Ain’t No Mountain High Enough
•If you can’t find ’em, grind ’em Exalted with Highmountain Tribe

Nightborne
•Achievement: Good Suramaritan
•If you can’t find ’em, grind ’em Exalted with The Nightfallen

Lightforged Draenei
•Achievement: You Are Now Prepared!
•If you can’t find ’em, grind ’em Exalted with Army of the Light

Void Elves
•Achievement: You Are Now Prepared!
•If you can’t find ’em, grind ’em Exalted with Argussian Reach

/sigh

Really, it’s exalted with at least one faction per every allied race. If that is account-wide or you have to grind on both factions, that’s yet to be discerned…

My personal advice: don’t fret.

New races are one of the very few selling points on this expansion-thing they are sort-of-promoting and I cannot see the company allowing those dev eggheads to hide a feature that might sell them an extra box behind a grind just to boost their precious lil’ metrics a wee more during the lull. It simply is not the company MO at all.

I fully expect a “after thorough consideration we removed the reputation requirements” announcement either shortly before launch or immediately thereafter, Hazzikostas is so very good at that <3

I didn’t really see the rep requirements as all that heavy. It might be because I’m only interested in a couple of the new races — but rep grinds aren’t what they used to be. *Shrug* I dunno, I have zero rep with Argussian Reach and that’s the one I want and it still doesn’t seem unfair to me.

There should be a story…perhaps even one that starts before the expansion to which players can gradually work in increments as it is released. I would have no issues with that. But locking them behind requirements that has a degree of repetitiveness to them regardless of how “heavy” they are should be a gaming dinosaur that have long been made extinct, IMO.

They are not heavy in the slightest… if you played Legion. That is the point.

Demanding to grind a rep in a previous product to access a core selling feature of the new product goes against their company practices, they want people who have skipped an xpack or two to be able to jump in without feeling hindered. That’s what all he system resets are for.

And I can’t see them going through with it, they like their box sales too much.

Ugh, I can’t believe game designers still fall back onto arbitrary grinds like reputation to unlock things. Or even use reputation at all.

As a tangent comment to this, I fundamentally can’t get pass the fact that Nightborne are Horde only, since my Alliance character pretty much saved their lives.

All that drudgery work in Suramar, for what? Waste of f’ing time.

The alliance rep isn’t your character, it’s Tyrande who spent the entire time in Suramar trash talking the Nightborne. It makes perfect sense why they went with the Horde since it seems the Nelves are more chin in the air than Belves are now a days.

With respect, that’s not how Blizzard presents the story to us. We are the ones doing the heavy lifting to free those people, and the NPCs in-game speak to us, and thank us, not Tyrande.

I’d hate to bleed, spend time, risk my life over and over again for a people, and have them go with some other tribe because someone else lifted a chin in their direction. Its too flimsy of an excuse, IMHO.

Open it up alreaaaaady, will you?

I don’t expect you to frontload three raids at once like you did at the launch of burning crusade when attunements were a thing but enough with the droplets… milking every bit of content for all it’s worth, are we? Huh? HUH?! /nudgenudge
