The planned raid for The Division 2 is being pushed back until May, because the developers have something else to focus on first. Yes, it’s that ever-present bugbear of balance, and it’s resulting in a big set of changes being tested on the game’s test server according to the most recent state of the game. Some of those changes are focused chiefly around PvP in general, like normalizing equipment to GS 500 rather than closer to the middle of the available numbers. But the majority of them are focused around the loops of gameplay and rewards in the Dark Zone.
Both versions of the zone will drop more contaminated loot and less clean loot to support the extraction playstyle. Changes are being made like splitting the zone into just two brackets to prevent empty Dark Zone expeditions, and players will be able to hold more contaminated loot at one time. Landmarks are also getting cooldowns added, and the Dark Zone will reward GS 515 items, making it a source of better rewards with greater danger in acquisition. Check out the whole state of the game summary and test the changes on the PTS, if you’re so inclined.
