Glad it’s back up!

I don’t even like to know this information as i’m fully aware at the ties players have with thier toons and gameworlds.

What is even more baffling is the way some people reacted to Justin’s article about LOTRO over on the OF.

The fact that some of the “white knights” went after Justin and his cedibility as a journalist and ability to be objective is…well, it was a bit mental. I genuinely think some of these people have psychological problems.

What are you new? to mmorpg’s lol :)

Many moons ago i was deep into EQ2, i didn’t go to forums, i simply played and always thought you only went to forums if you have problems. Game ran fine for me so never went.

I started having issues no one in our guild was having so off i went to investigate and i was kinda floored how right i was, seems only people with major problems as in deep psychological issues go there.

Been trying to return to that world, “me and the game world” theme of playing, but it’s somewhat hard as it’s nice to read and contribute with others in your common interest, and mop is by far the most hygienic site on the internet, let alone mmorpg sites. Admittedly it’s hard to not get wrapped up in the shitstorms at times too.

If you read between the lines there are a plethora of amazing posters everywhere you go.

LOTRO has some of the most detached from reality white knights and fanboys I’ve encountered in a long while. Whatever you say and they disagree with, you’re automatically hating on the game and don’t know anything about it, because you’ve never played it, even though you have 350+ hours in it and several characters maxed out, that still doesn’t mean you ever played the game… according to them.

How dare you demand feedback from a company from which you buy a product and helps keep afloat?

I can say I’ve had a relatively smooth experience over the weekend.

Yes – chars are still disabled
Minor desynch

Overall I was able to enjoy it, so that’s a win somewhere!

Well, LOTRO is sorta back. Still seeing some rubber banding, lag spikes, client/server desync events. But, it is more playable than it was last week (even when it was up).

I do hope they continue to work on the problem and not just declare every thing ‘ok’ because folks can play to a certain degree. ;)

Is it bad that this sounds like my normal experience with LOTRO even prior to there being any big outages? Great that it’s more playable than it was though.

The problems have been building up over the last 6 weeks, or so. Some hitching and the like has been present ever since Turbine collapsed all the servers into one east coast location. But the desync stuff is what has really been causing the big problems lately.
