If you’ve been curious to try the sandbox MMORPG Fractured Online but you’re nervous about buying an early access game or you’re nervous about rickety tech issues, this weekend might just reward your patience/gun-shyness: Dynamight Studios has announced plans for a free weekend along with a sale for the game.

This Thursday, March 7th, will see Fractured become fully free-to-play until Monday, March 11th, both on Steam and from the game’s standalone launcher. At the same time, there will be discounts on all of the different founder’s packs, with 30% for the base Adept’s Pack and discounts between 15% and 20% for more expensive packs. The sale will be on for “some days” after the free weekend is over.

The post doesn’t do much to hide the intention of this promotional period, which is accented by the Spread The Word & Win A Key program. “As we’ve always publicly disclosed, our financial means are quite limited since we’ve become independent, both in staff and in funding, which seriously restricts our ability to promote the game,” the announcement explains. “This means we have to rely on the support of our community to grow Fractured Online… on YOUR support!”
