Apparently, the plan for World of Warcraft’s content leading up to The War Within is to just make you play classic flashbacks whether you want to or not. Even if you’re a resolute retail player, the big feature for patch 10.2.7 appears to be the upcoming Mists of Pandaria Remix, which lets you speed-level a character from level 10 to 70 via MoP content, complete with more powerful items dropping from everywhere, powerful gem items, and a legendary cloak to help you smash your way through challenges with ease.

But why would you want to do this other than just to level quickly? Well, for one thing your transmog collection will remain intact and be expanded by the things you find while on this leveling journey. More importantly, you’ll also be able to unlock new appearances and earn a special new currency, Bronze, that unlocks even more appearances, mounts, pets, and the likes. So if you’re not eager for a play through of the immediate predecessor in WoW Classic maybe you want a power-leveled journey through Pandaria? That’s what you get.

Activision-Blizzard is considered a controversial gaming company owing to a long string of scandals going back to 2019, including the Blitzchung boycott, mass layoffs, labor disputes, pay disparities, sexual harassment and discrimination lawsuits, federal settlements, executive misconduct, botched Chinese partnership, unionbusting, disastrous management, brain drain, and bungled games. As of 2023, the company was finally acquired by Microsoft; just this year, it’s laid off 800 workers and misled gamers about WoW subs.
