Gamescom 2024 in Cologne, Germany, is about to begin with Geoff Keighley’s Opening Night Live spectacle, a two-hour parade of trailers, advertisements, and ideally, new game announcements that kick off the show and set the stage for the event… oh yeah, and give those of us back home some distraction.

Thanks to public hints and teases, we’re expecting plenty of news on the MMO and multiplayer front, including news from Dune Awakening, New World, Crimson Desert, Monster Hunter Now, Marvel Rivals, and even Diablo IV – and surely plenty more we haven’t snooped out yet. Some games – like Tarisland – are promising more over the course of the week, too, while Throne & Liberty is running a viral event and Elder Scrolls Online has a dedicated stream on Thursday.

We’ll be liveblogging the event down below with all the relevant-to-MOP highlights! Watch along with us starting at 2 p.m. EDT.

First up is a teaser trailer for Borderlands 4, launching next year.

Amazon and Glowmade have formally announced King of Meat – yes – a 4-person co-op title.

Lynked: Banner of the Spark is another cute co-op title, this one from FuzzyBot. Early access coming October 22nd.

“In Lynked: Banner of the Spark, you are tasked to lead the fight against the Combots—lethal machines intent on destroying the natural world. Engage in electrifying co-op missions with non-stop hack and slash combat and roguelite progression. Expand your town to unlock and upgrade weapons and abilities between runs, recruit new robotic allies, and build a resistance strong enough to reclaim the future.”

Nexon’s Embark Studios dropped new info for ARC Raiders, now calling it an action-survival shooter: It’s launching next year.

Predecessor: Omeda officially launches Predecessor today – and of course, that means a new trailer. This is the latest Paragon spin-off.

We finally have a launch window for Dune Awakening: Funcom is rolling out the survival MMO in early 2025… for PC players, anyhow. There’s no ETA for console. The trailer is a full gameplay reveal narrated by (who else) Joel Bylos.

Genshin Impact is coming to Xbox! November 17th is the date.

Monster Hunter Wilds’ new trailer dropped.

Mecha BREAK’s first-ever Xbox Closed Beta test will be live from August 25-27, beginning at 7:00 PM PT / 10:00 PM ET on the 25th until 11:59 PM PT / 2:59 AM ET on the 27th,” says Amazing Seasun Games.

Marvel Rivals is officially launching December 6th “with all heroes free-to-play.”

Blink and you missed it: During Amazon Prime Video’s reveal of a new TV series dubbed Secret Level, the company included a New World-themed clip.

Blizzard president Johanna Faries is here to talk all things World of Warcraft and Diablo, beginning by touting WoW’s anniversary and the launch of The War Within. She does promise an upcoming preview stream for WoW, pretty much making up for the canceled BlizzCon. And she teases a new Overwatch 2 skin too. But mostly, she’s here to introduce Diablo IV’s Vessel of Hatred hands-on booth and video.

Floatopia is giving some serious Animal Crossing and we’re not mad. NetEase social sim sandbox, co-op etc.

Krafton announced global preregistration for Dark and Darker Mobile.
Grinding Gear Games formally announced that early access for Path of Exile 2 is slated for November 15th.

Done: And that’s a wrap. Actually slightly less shootymans numbness from this show compared to normal. But still way too long!
