Among the MMOs we’ve suggested you should keep your eyes on in 2025 is Ship of Heroes, which is looking to make its release in the second quarter of this year. How developer Heroic Games got there is the subject of its latest dev blog, which collects all of the major developments made through the past year.
The post talks up improvements to visual effects, more character creation options, a “comprehensive” set of animation upgrades, and work on making raid content. There’s also plenty of quality-of-life features highlighted such as voiced NPC dialogue, difficulty options, and chat UI features. Finally, the devs note that they’ve got the beta version of an auction house online and have added an early level training mission.
In more current events, Heroic Games calls attention to backend upgrades that have reduced lag, a major focus on network processes, deepening integration with Steam, and a more sophisticated test server setup that is “complicated” but “getting there.” Other reveals including test dates aren’t shared yet, but the studio hopes fans will consider 2024’s progress and keep following along in 2025.
