We’re likely just a few days away from the next major build update to Star Citizen. That’s because the PTU of alpha 4.6 was opened up to all backers earlier this week, letting those who tossed money into the sandbox’s years-long development into the public test server regardless of their play time in the alpha.
This current build of the game asks players to kick the tiers of cockpit lighting updates, newly added industrial salvaging and mining missions, and the missions associated with the Alliance Aid event that were all discussed previously, as well as a new “gold standard” pass of the Aurora, VR-specific updates, and a host of stability and bug fixes.
Meanwhile CIG has outlined its next week of comms plans, which include the monthly report that covers last November and December’s development on Wednesday, January 21st, and the next Inside Star Citizen video digest on Thursday, January 22nd.
