Back in January, Conan Exiles players were wary when Funcom told its investors about “continuing to develop the game with a paid map DLC”; after all, players were promised free content and only cosmetics in regular DLC. In February, we postulated that Funcom would do better by fans making a real expansion instead of a DLC. As it turns out, it is a new expansion —Â Conan Exiles’ first. Introducing, Isle of Siptah: a brand-new map with pirate-y shipwrecks full of new content for players to enjoy.
In this expansion, players will experience more than a dozen new dungeons, a gaggle of new monsters, two new building styles, a new rhino mount, and even all-new mechanics, like building in mighty redwoods and magic. Yes, Isle of Siptah sports sorcery — though sadly, not the kind players can wield. Engulfed in magical storms, the island spawns vile creatures and NPCs in surges of sorcery, while players can use magical portals to forcibly pull NPCs from the Exiled Lands onto the island to become thralls. And all this happens on an all-new character.
Early access for Isle Siptah starts on September 15th, 2020, with full release slated for early 2021. Early access adopters will receive a limited edition war-torn rhino mount skin, but anyone with the expansion installed can access the new building sets and mounts in the Exiled Lands base game.
Funcom also announced a free weekend and sale: Anyone wanting to give Conan Exiles a shot can hop on for a Steam free weekend from today at 1:00 p.m. EDT until Monday, September 14th, during which time the game will also be 65% off.
