Survival action RPG Frozen Flame announced this week that it was heading into closed beta with a single-player mode, a new event, and a special respec juice for characters. The good news is that you can now play singly, take part in the event, and drink the juice as the beta has begun and is currently running. Cool! Or hot. Could be either with a title like that.
We did have some other beta news, right? Hang on, let me sift a little bit here…
- Oh, here we go, a launch date for Lost Ark! Except it’s in Japan because this game’s release plan is apparently everywhere other than here. Still, Japanese players get to enjoy it on September 23rd.
- The weekly update for Last Oasis has dropped the bomb on players. Specifically, three new types of bombs. If only its player numbers could explode like they do.
- Still sifting, still sifting… oh, look more beta events being planned for Ship of Heroes! That ship floats on, all right.
- Last but not least, Destiny’s Sword currently has a free-to-play demo out which you can use to make a character. That’s pretty neat in this era of endless online events, isn’t it?
Yeah, that’s all the sifting we’re doing today. I’m tired. You can feel free to sift, sort, or just generally investigate the list of games currently in beta just below. We don’t only permit that, we encourage it. And if in the process of your searching you find something that’s missing or something that should have a different status listed, you can let us know in the comments.
As always, we consider an MMO to be in open testing if it features free, public signups and will server wipe prior to launch. An MMO is marked in closed testing if it’s running a private test phase that cannot freely be accessed by the general public; it’s usually under NDA as well. Early access and crowdfunded MMOs whose tests we deem legitimate will be included. So-called “open beta” soft-launch MMOs with cash shops, no sign of launch in the west, or limited interest for our readers will not be listed; we also do not list expansions, with occasional exceptions.
