A recent post over at Words Under My Name resonated as the author shared how, despite multiple efforts to be social in MMOPGs, sooner or later the “lone wolf” emerged to guide all in-game activities.
Maybe this even sounds like you: “I’ve tried, I’ve tried to be a social creature in guilds, linkshells, clans and free companies before, but, it feels ‘awkward’ for me. Or, I’ll occasionally use LFG/group finder tools, get into a group, and… just bomb out.”

24 Hours In gave fall damage a good, hard look: “And now Secret World Legends, where I’ve noticed during this run that I take no damage when I drop down from high places […] It’s quite likely that I’ve been unconsciously playing SWL as if there is fall damage because in the games it reminds me of there always was.
The EverQuest Show explained how EverQuest II spell efficiency works: “Generally, it’s just the number on the tooltip divided by cast and recovery. The bigger the efficiency, the better the spell! However, some spells have a range of damage, so you will want to calculate the low and high end spell efficiencies, then average them by adding the efficiencies and dividing by two.”
Heartless Gamer shared screenshots from New World’s latest zone: “SQUISH! Small scorpions get squished by running over them. A cozy camp. This legendary rapier was a quest reward for one of the first quests!”
And Ancient Gaming Noob was on the ground with impressions from the same update: “Someone is going to pop into the comments to tell me none of this is new, I just know it. Even as I type, I’m getting flashbacks of doing all this stuff before. I think what they’ve done is keep the bones of the previous tutorial and zhoosh it up a bit but exactly how much is new I couldn’t say with any authority.”
Leo’s Life investigated the latest updates from No Man’s Sky: “Not having to recharge your suit or mining laser is AMAZING! Death is far less frequent as well, which is a huge boon as combat is not this game’s strong suit. The game just becomes substantially more accessible to everyone.”
In An Age has shrunk down to the size of an ant to go through Grounded: “To start out, the world of Grounded is amazing. You wake up in a small cave that opens out into a forest of grass and weeds that towers above you. Although there are giant juice boxes and other items to hammer home just how tiny you are, they are really unnecessary – everything about how you move around the yard, the distances involved, and of course the creatures keeps everything front and center.”
