One Shots: Stones in silence

When they aren’t being pooped on, defaced, or used as backdrops for narcissistic selfies, statues have a particular quiet dignity and a magic all of their own. Each one tells a story of a person or place, literally putting it into stone for future generations to appreciate.

And then comes along the gradual discovery of these, as with Katriana: “I was in Dragonfall in Guild Wars 2 working on getting a Skyscale the old-fashioned way and got this shot of a statue of Melandru (I think).”

Hikari is suiting up for the future: “The First Descendent is much improved this time around and looking quite lovely.”

I do have to wonder how easy those outfits are to put on and off. I can imagine that after a five-hour process of suiting up, that warrior decides that she’s just going to live in there for the rest of her life and hope that bathroom issues will never crop up.

Lucky Jinx is chilling in World of Warcraft’s Silverpine Forest while impressing a nearby banshee with the rate of inflation in the future. “Eggs are going to cost how much?”

MINIMALISTWAY… HAS… THE… POWAAAAAAAAAR

“While waiting for a world boss, Guild Wars 2 players like to show off. Here is a colorful kitty.”

Who has power.

And lastly, here’s my baby Lore-master in Lord of the Rings Online scoping out Ered Luin while her bear hovers protectively behind her. One never knows when a level 6 wolf might attack, after all!

You’ve been waiting your whole life for your time to shine… and that time is now. I’m the one who gets to make that call, and I’ve decided that you need a spotlight to show off your screen-taking masterpieces. Shine on!

Every week, One Shots shines a spotlight on the best community screenshots from your MMO adventures. If you have a great pic to share, email it to justin@massivelyop.com with the subject “One Shots.” Make sure that the picture is over 880px wide and comes with a description or story!
