If you are among those Destiny players who really wanted a Destiny game on your phone, then your moment is fast approaching, as NetEase has officially kicked off the Destiny Rising closed alpha test as of this morning, specifically for US and Canadian gamers.
Players will be testing the campaign prologue, 11 lightbearers, Haven (the social hub), the Jiangshi Metro “free roam destination,” two strike missions, three public events, a six-person “raid-like” called Guantlet, at least four game modes, and “casual activities between missions.”
“A good part of the main campaign will be available, along with at least one map for all game modes so players can experience the variety in gameplay,” NetEase says. “Our primary focus for this Closed Alpha test is optimizing our core PvE experiences and making sure we home in on the fun. That said, this is still an early build of the game and much of it is still meant to change over time, including the monetization systems.”
The closed alpha runs through 3 a.m. EST on December 5th, so you’ll have kind of a lot of time to test in this phase. Preregistration on Android and iOS is still open, though that’s no guarantee of getting in. The FAQ says that there may be additional tests after this one, too.
