I love fantasy too, but somehow no fantasy games interest me enough to try them. I do read dozens of fantasy books per year though. I hope someone someday makes a good fantasy game.

BalsBigBrother Damonvile BigJohnny1982 but that’s insanity! Games aren’t about fun, they are about arguing on message boards! they always were!

Elite: Dangerous is the Hard SF Nerd’s wet dream but I would hardly call it cool. Star Citizen isn’t even launched as is No Man’s Sky so they could turn this cool around by 180 degrees again when tanking on launch. But hey, one of the No Man’s Sky devs was a guest at the Late Show with Stephen Colbert so these games do get mainstream recognition(serious doubt: will No Man’s Sky be Spore 2?)

I appreciate that one of my favourite childhood genres is making a comeback, though. Classic CRPG’s(PoE, D:OS, WL2) are already back, so I wish Space Sims get the same quality treatment as CRPG’s got.

All of these will launch something playable.
If they live up to anything close to the Dev’s promises is something completely different.

I find it problematic if we define something by how much people care about it though. :(

Pashgan Sci-fi genre does look cool to me. I’m a Star Wars nut! But for mainstream for MMOs, fantasy has always crushed it. :D

Xijit BigJohnny1982 MMO “mechanics” do not make a mmo. http://www.livefyre.com/profile/72652282/
Just said it very well.

It is not just about having a lot of ppl on screen at once. There is a huge social difference between sitting in a lobby with a chat box and walking around the world and interacting with each other spontaniously. The same goes for economy wich btw is completely loby games.

Dauthus BigJohnny1982 The Massively in MMO certaintly does not stand for 32 player lobby shooters and people on here are already calling 16 player lobby shooters like Ghost in the shell MMO’s i noitced.

What defines a mmo? The massivly in MMO does. i would say that 32 players or even 64 does not. (not talking about elite btw but even braben said its not a mmo.)
